About this work
Description
Photographs of patients at The Bethlem Royal Hospital. Divided into two groups, male and female. Patients were allocated a number when they were photographed; this is visible in some pictures worn around the subject's neck or pinned to their clothing. Most photographs have also been annotated with the patient's name.
