About this work

Description

Despite receiving organized donations from the companies running football pools, the Campaign was concerned about its name being used to promote their sales. It could imply a commercial connection between a company run for private profit and a charitable organization, such as sponsorship, or could imply the promotion of gambling in aid of charity. These files include some references to lotteries, bingos and the Campaign. The main issue was whether betting was a legitimate form of fund-raising.
