Biographical note
Pontecorvo celebrated his 80th birthday on 29th November 1987. To mark the occassion his family and colleagues at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund organised a symposium and invited his genetics friends and colleagues from around the world to speak at the event. Pontecorvo's daughter, Lisa, also organised a cheese and wine party for close friends and colleagues the night before the symposium.
