Biographical note

An interim National Council was established in October 1965, becoming the full National Council in June 1967. The National Council consisted of three representatives from each Region, plus the Honorary Officers and a small number of Co-opted Members, meeting about twice a year. The National Council dissolved itself on 25 September 1980. It transferred it's responsibilities and powers, together with those of the National Executive Committee, to the National Executive Council.
