Notebook (Georgian Bond Writting Pad) is a present from his sister Laura to him. On the front page he has written "To Redeem from Insaity and....". Grafton discusses and plans to hold a meeting about the war and the role of aircraft. Also writes about music. In the form of letters and short diary enteries to various correspondents such as newspaper editors. Refers to himself as "Ambassador of Gabriel"and thinks about why he did not fight, citing Gabriel's wish for him to be peaceful.
